For popular destinations like Tanzania and Kenya, especially during peak season (June–October), we recommend booking 6–12 months in advance. Gorilla permits in Uganda are particularly limited and should be secured as early as possible — ideally 6–9 months ahead. Off-peak travel can often be arranged with 4–8 weeks' notice.
Travel insurance is not included in our tour prices. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance including emergency evacuation cover for all African itineraries. We can recommend trusted providers upon booking.
Cancellations made more than 90 days before departure receive a full refund minus the deposit. Cancellations between 60–90 days forfeit 25% of the total. Within 60 days, our standard policy applies — we can discuss flexibility on a case-by-case basis, and we strongly advise purchasing cancellation insurance.
Unless specifically stated in the package, our prices do not include international flights from your home country. We do include internal flights where required (e.g. Nairobi to Masai Mara), all ground transfers, accommodation, meals, and park fees as listed in each itinerary.
Many of our tours are ideal for families with children — we design family-specific itineraries with shorter game drives, engaging activities, and family-friendly lodges. Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking has a minimum age of 15 and 12 respectively. Let us know the ages of your children and we'll design the perfect family adventure.
Requirements vary by destination. Generally, yellow fever vaccination is required or recommended for East and Central Africa. Malaria prophylaxis is advised for most itineraries. We recommend consulting a travel medicine clinic 6–8 weeks before departure for personalised advice. We provide a detailed health brief with every confirmed booking.
Absolutely — multi-destination tours are one of our specialities. Popular combinations include Tanzania + Zanzibar, Tanzania + Kenya, Kenya + Uganda for gorilla trekking, and the ultimate "Grand Safari" covering three East African countries. We'll handle all the logistics to make it seamless.
